PowerTrainUSA is a project of the Sierra Railroad Company. Sierra Railroad has been service California since 1897. The PowerTrain project allows cities, municipal utility districts or industrial power users to avoid costly black-outs and to lighten the electrical load for the state through Distributed Generation. Information regarding this innovative use of diesel-electric locomotives to help solve the on-going power crisis in California can be obtained by contacting:
